Gasly is starting a new chapter in his career. He has spent the previous six seasons with Red Bull, where he even worked his way up to the A-team in 2019 as Max Verstappen’s teammate. However, he fell significantly behind him and was sent back to junior Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) halfway through the season. There, he managed to get back into form and even won the 2020 Italian Grand Prix. However, when Red Bull extended Pérez’s contract until 2023 last year, Gasly realised that the team was no longer counting on him. When a vacancy opened up at Alpine, he didn’t hesitate and will be hoping to challenge for the top positions with the team in the future.
